Personally, I was impressed by the diverse menu offerings at The Wren. The cauliflower bites and Wrenquila drink were particular standouts for me, showcasing the creativity and quality of the food and drinks served here. The friendly and attentive staff only added to the overall positive experience, making The Wren a must-visit spot in the Bowery area.
“ Been here many times over the years, a couple for brunch and many just stopping in for a drink (resting the feet) and some delicious fries. It's got a nice vibe and a big bar you can cozy up too. It's got decent grub and a full bar, this has been a staple for us to stop in over the years when visiting and we are out walking and need a break. We always know we can come eat a good meal or just get a drink/snack and hang for a bit. Really love this place. ”
“ This basil drink was great until my friend said it tasted like pesto and I cannot un-taste it. Overall good place, such a vibe to chill and grab a drink. Servers were super busy but nice. ”
“ I came here for an event one of my business contacts who I hadn't seen in a while was speaking at for an organization with a very worthwhile purpose. I didn't have a typical customer experience as this was a private event but I did have food and water there and I have to say the food I had was good and service was on point though it did get crowded so you may want to consider using this space for your smaller, more intimate gatherings. I'm not in this area so much these days but I had a good experience and if I were in the neighborhood and got invited to come here, I'd go back. ”
“ A cute happy hour spot in the Bowery with a dimly-lit interior and great vibes -- perfect for a post-work hang. They HH runs until 7 and the drink selection is great, was a big fan of Wrenquila. Cauliflower Bites were also delicious! ”
“ Solid Bowery restaurant with interesting food and a good drink selection. I've been coming to the Bowery for years and it's always tricky finding a place thats chill and not too expensive but still has that older Bowery feel. The Wren and its proximity to The Bowery Electric for musicians make it a good pre-gig meal. Came here after soundcheck for just that reason. The wine selection is fairly good and the lighter fare like the shrimp salad was a great pre-gig choice. Delicious poached shrimp over arugula, with pickled fennel, watercress, chips, red wine dressing. The popcorn chicken as a shared plate is also quite good. The dipping sauce crushes. I've heard it's quite good for brunch and would definitely come and try! Also should mention our server was great, was happy to split the check amongst like 8 of us, but we did all in one and they did a great job of keeping our drinks poured. ”
“ I stopped off here after dinner and a show, as a nightcap. Being a Saturday night, it was pretty crowded, but it was after 10, so it wasn't too hard to snag an outside table (not first come, first serve, you do have to check in with the host). I had the smoked brisket croquettes with house mustard, which missed the mark for me. The flavor was pretty weak. The kale and artichoke dip with gruyere cheese and sourdough bread fared better. Overall a decent bar/snack menu that also boasts whipped ricotta, shishito peppers. Mains = friend chicken sandwich, a burger, a turkey club, fish and chips, a couple salads, schnitzel. For drinks, I had the garden center (vodka, elderflower, lemon, ginger), the bae watch (basil infused gin, mint, lemon), and the rabasa (tequila, pineapple amaro, cocci americano, lemon, grapefruit, simple, peychauds bitters). The drinks were fine, not as amazing as I thought they would be. The bae watch was my favorite--most flavorful, cleanest, most refreshing. Outside was pretty nice and not loud. Rachel was my server and did a great job. She was rad. Inside was crowded and loud. In fact, if I hadn't been able to sit outside, I would have chosen another place altogether. I wouldn't try this place again on a weekend night, but would try it on a quieter night. Wouldn't go out of my way (so many more creative places in a similar category--Goodnight Sonny, Bandits), but don't write this one off either. ”
“ Still a favorite spot of mine. Food and drinks are reliably good and won't break the bank. ”
“ The Wren is probably one of my new favorite bars in the city! Not only is the place aesthetically beautiful and vibey, the service was amazing. Both Brenna and Addi, who were our hostess and server were so sweet and informative about the menu. The drinks were amazing and they probably make one of the best little burgers I have had at a bar! This will definitely be my go to spot going forward and I highly recommend. ”
“ Our organization had an after-party/cocktail hour downstairs. Despite the massive turnout, the night didn't feel all that cramped in the beginning. The lines at the bar ran quick, and they were gracious enough to consistently refill and offer apps, even for the later comers and passerbys. The aesthetic was chill, mildly dark, but still open and friendly. Ideal for any small company looking to host a holiday or networking party. ”
